EGS DC Welcomes Quaise Energy to Coalition
The Enhanced Geothermal Systems Deployment Coalition (EGS DC) is pleased to welcome Quaise Energy as a new member of EGS DC’s Founding Member circle.
Quaise joins EGS DC at a pivotal moment for the geothermal industry, as policymakers increasingly recognize the need for reliable, affordable, and scalable energy solutions to meet growing electricity demand. As both a technology innovator and project developer, Quaise is advancing a new frontier in geothermal energy through its work to unlock superhot geothermal resources deep beneath the Earth's surface.
Founded in 2018, Quaise emerged from more than a decade of research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and pioneered a novel millimeter wave drilling technology designed to reach depths and temperatures previously inaccessible with conventional drilling methods. By harnessing superhot geothermal energy, Quaise aims to deliver clean, affordable, zero-carbon baseload power at scale.
Quaise's addition further strengthens EGS DC's growing coalition of leaders from across the geothermal value chain working to ensure next-generation geothermal energy can play a central role in providing clean, firm power to meet the nation’s long-term energy needs. In recent months, the coalition has also welcomed Google and DynaEnergetics, reflecting the increasing momentum behind enhanced geothermal systems and the broad range of stakeholders committed to advancing the industry.
As EGS DC continues to expand, the coalition remains focused on advancing federal policies that accelerate the deployment of enhanced geothermal systems and help bring commercial-scale projects online across the U.S. We are excited to welcome another leading developer to the coalition and look forward to working alongside Quaise to advance policies that provide for the deployment of EGS technologies.
